My 1992 Cure adventures

Attended concert (Autumn, Michael &
Gina)
We lived in Sand Diego,
CA at the time and drove out to AZ - over 5
hours away! Gina, Michael and I went to AZ without tickets in our
hands!! (Oh my God! I would never do that now)! We bought tickets on the street
about an hour before the show - We bought 9th row on the floor!! So lucky. I
was so shocked by The Cranes - I wanted them OFF the stage!!!! (I LOVE them
now and by the time we went to Paris I loved them). We ran into our old pen pal
Cheri (who was living in Las Vegas) after the show. We also met up with Ruth
Fillmore from Other Voices (she had came out to CA for the Presence shows in a
1991) and drove her home with us. She traveled with us for all of the CA shows.

Long Beach, Ca ~ June 21st, 1992

Michael, Gina, Paul, Lori B, Ruth, Jean, Marie, Jim & Diane)
We bought tickets for Long Beach exactly six months before the concert. Brian Greenspan
had met Jean and Marie during the 1990 summer festivals. They were also staying
with us. We all drove up to Long Beach. We had awful seats. Mike used to
trade Cure tapes with a ton of other fans and a few came and stayed with us for
the Southern California shows. We had a small one bedroom apartment and we
had SEVEN people staying at our home!! Lori B from Northern CA came down (& we
still go to shows with her!)

Brian Greenspan flew in from New York. We used to buy a lot of records from
Brian Greenspan. Mike and Brian used to haggle on the phone for prices on
records for hours. Brian has sold us some of the most wonderful cure items
ever made. (Like the Lament Hard Vinyl and Bird Mad Girl w/folder just to
name a few!!! :) THANKS GREENSPAN!!! :)

Michael, Gina, Paul, Lori B, Ruth, Jean, Marie, Brian, Jim & Diane)
We got FRONT row tickets for the second San Diego show.
I got so lucky. I was friendly with this girl while staying the night
inline for tickets. It was random wristbands and she ended up being the
first number drawn. :) When she went to get tickets she only needed two and so
she bought me three and she ended up with FRONT ROW tickets at cost!!!! Brian used to
run this Cure fanzine called "Close To Me the Cure collectors guide" He had Porl
sign a few flyers. He handed out a million and one flyers at the shows.
Paul K (Mike met him at a Cure hotel back in 1989) said to Brian "Hey LOL
- hurry up no one wants your fanzine" - You have to be a Cure fan and know
Greenspan to find that
funny! :)
Janet (Smith) Thompson was also there and we had her sign our Cult Hero 7". Before the concert Porl got a new tattoo. Brian had this crazy idea to make a sign for them to play FAITH. We had nothing, but we found a piece of cardboard and carved in the words FAITH. During LGTB we showed it to Robert and he just shook his head "NO". But during a "A Forest" he sang a few lines from FAITH! :)
