Funny funny story how I got passes for this.  A guitar friend was able to put me on the list @ Guitar Center that morning.  When I went inside to check on my VIP pass they treated my like a queen, took my upstairs and showed me around asked If I need anything.  Then they asked me how many passes I needed.  (Hmm... What to say?.. It was just supposed to be for two.  but they did ask how many I wanted)? So I said I would love to have six. I had four girl friends plus my husband waiting outside.  Well we all got inside and hung out for a half hour or so and then someone from Guitar Center came up to me and asked WHO I WAS.  So I told them and they informed me that they thought I was with the OSBORN'S - you know from Ozzy and family from MTV and that a MTV camera crew was waiting  outside and could not get in.  That they needed my FOUR extra passes!!!   I thought I was going to die I was so embarrassed.  No wonder they treating me so darn good.  They thought I was someone.  and indeed I am no one.   Me connected with Ozzy and MTV!!!!... So they took away my four girlfriends passes.  Lucky they did not get kicked out.  They stayed inside and we went out side to see the hands getting dipped in and missed the real fun inside.  But I was so stressed out the whole time and barely enjoyed my self inside.  I was so embarrassed and worried the whole night.  

 I of course saved the night for everyone again by knowing secret codes and such... We saw many things that night, short skirts, lap dances, famous stars, met famous Cure fans, crazy sick people and oh so much more.  oh what a night. ;0 .  -  But it all worked out we all had a great time and did not get home until around 4 or 5 am I can't even remember.  Thank God  - Coachella was not the next day... One of the worst Cure experiences of my life.  - What a drive... again what a drive!  and what a place.  I hope to God they never play there again.  I had really bad asthma there that night...  I really enjoyed hearing the four new songs and enjoyed hearing a full "Love Cats ".  Saw twinkling lights backstage but - drove home...I was really excited about what the new CD was going to be like.  (AJB)

July 26, 2004 the Herald (FL) WPB Review

July 23, 2004- I flew from San Diego to West Palm Beach. Paul picked me up at the airport. We arrived the night before the concert -when we were about to go in to the elevator I saw a familiar head of hair in the reflection in the elevator mirror. :) We waited to get on the lift. Later we saw Jason on the beach and Perry fishing?.  We were supposed to go to the sound check but we missed the phone call. But after a nice dinner and drinks the boys did come back.  Roger stayed up for a few hours with us and brought down his computer and showed me hundreds and  hundreds of photos.  I was in heaven.  If only I could have captured them all from my eyes. :)   Off to Sleep.  

July 24, 2004- Had a nice breakfast.  Saw Perry about to work out. :) Simon with an Ice Cream cone.  Roger took his flying test that afternoon and passed.  We had a nice dinner with Roger then off to the venue.  We had not thought about renting a car. ;) So we had the hotel get us a town car to get us to the venue.  Well $60 + later we arrived....  It is so hot in Florida to a girl from Southern California.  Saw Jennifer Mckee  & Jayme Jacobs and as almost always  somehow Jay Brame was also there. :)  I had bought PIT tickets. :)
After the show we went backstage and were greeted with lots of drinks and snacks.  Had a wonderful time seeing old Cure friends and The Cure. Even got a chance to speak with Robert & .... I had a few tooo many drinks and somehow convinced the nice couple who won the charity auction on Ebay to "Meet & Greet" with The Cure to drive us both all of the way back to our hotel.  The were so very nice.  I even used their cell phone. ;) (AJB)

July 25, 2004- We got up early and flew to Tampa. Paul now lives in Tampa. We went out to a nice dinner with his wonderful family .We barely made it in time for the show.  Paul had brought the band a TON of Buccaneers merchandise and they would not let him in with it.  So he had to RUN it back to the car... We had Pit tickets, but the Pit was exceptionally HUGE!  ;(
 After the show we went backstage and were greeted with no drinks. Roger had to bring us some. Roger also gave us some signed CD inserts. ;)  Had a nice chat with Simon he asked about my flight from California.  :)  How did he remember? ;)  he also says my name so beautifully.  Maybe everyone English does but it sounds just like heaven to my ears.  I learned about his new skull tattoo and his new drink of choice.  Spoke to Jason about his wedding in May and how is parents live near Boris Williams (a small world indeed) and how he needs to buy a home. Roger said he got a speeding ticket with Simon in the car on the way from West Palm Beach.  ROGER!!!  Roger asked if I was ever going to take any pictures.  So I did.  Only two. Shame on me.  Chloë Sevigny  was also backstage.  Also met Andre ( the head of security) who was very generous and friendly.  It was a fantastic evening.  Flew home the next morning.  What a way to start out Curiosa...  (AJB)

MORE SOON>>>   We got to the airport and looked up and saw a few familiar faces.  Roger, Simon and Perry.  They were also on our flight!  and the flight was delayed.  ;) We sat with them for an hour of so and heard some strange stories, was called strange names. In the small little DJ booth/VIP room Carlos told us about the LA club he would be DJing at - the Beauty Bar. We really enjoyed his setlist, we had a great time dancing.   Poor sweet Daniel had a hurt hand. They even had a small photo booth at the nightclub. - Nothing I love more then a small photo booth.  :) Talk about a fun night. (AJB)

Shit why aren't we in Portland??'

What a whirlwind.  I can't remember it all. I think I did see it all this year. With Curiosa = flights with The Cure, hotels, dinners, drinks, computers, clubs, bars, fights, tears, famous celebrities, a live rabbit, blood, sex, drugs, and of course a bit of Rock N' Roll.  In all I enjoyed Curiosa very much...

9/2004 - So Curiosa is over.  and I am so so sad.,  Why did I not take any photos? Why do I get so shy about that?  Hell I have a site called PicturesOfYou!! What is wrong with me? Why do I just stand there and not talk or take more photos?  I have issues...  But will there be another day?  Or another show?  Maybe someday. Let's hope so.  (AJB)
